TASTING NOTES

A distinctive ensemble, with a very dark, purplish color, notes of ripe fruit (plum, prune, raspberry) coupled with floral notes (violet, peony). Harmonious palate carried by notes of licorice-laced red fruits, rich to ample, beautiful substance with coated tannins. Beautiful aromatic expression.

SOMMELIER'S ADVICE

Serve at 16° to 18° with red meats, game, stew and cheeses.

ANECDOTE

Prunelart, the almost forgotten red grape variety of the Appellation, was cultivated in Gaillac 400 years ago. Olivier de Serres, a pioneer of Sustainable Agriculture, claimed in the 16th century that Prunelart produced "one of the best wines in the Kingdom." Its small, compact black grape clusters give us a colorful and full-bodied wine with aromas of candied red fruits.
