Domaine de Labarthe — organic Gaillac winemakers, a family estate since 1550. On our clay-limestone and gravelly soils, in the heart of one of France's oldest wine-growing appellations, we craft a full range of certified organic AOC Gaillac wines: structured reds, fresh rosés, dry and sweet whites, and traditional sparkling wines made using the centuries-old méthode ancestrale.
AOC Gaillac: A Unique Vineyard with Grape Varieties Found Nowhere Else
Nestled between Toulouse and Albi in South-West France, the Gaillac vineyard is recognised as one of the oldest wine regions in France, cultivated for over two millennia. Its singularity lies in its native grape varieties, which are almost exclusive to this terroir:
- Braucol (also called Fer Servadou) — the emblematic red variety, producing fruity wines with a supple structure.
- Duras — a local red grape that brings spice and lingering depth.
- Len de l'El (literally "far from the eye") — a rare white variety with floral notes and white-fruit aromas.
- Mauzac — a historic white grape, the backbone of Gaillac sparkling and dry white wines.
- Ondenc, Verdanel, Prunelart — confidential varieties preserved by a handful of Gaillac estates.

Every cuvée is certified organic (Agriculture Biologique). We tend the vines without synthetic herbicides or pesticides, favouring manual work and copper- and sulphur-based treatments. In the cellar, we use indigenous yeasts, little to no added sulphites, and no superfluous additives. The result: wines that genuinely express the Gaillac terroir, not the signature of a cellar master.
